Preventive Dental Care

Protecting Healthy Teeth

It is important to practice preventive dental care every day to keep your teeth healthy and strong. Good oral hygiene at home plus semi-annual cleanings and exams keeps your smile bright and healthy.

Below are a few simple ways to prevent cavities and gum disease:

  • Brush your teeth at least twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste.
  • Brush your tongue to remove residual food particles and keep your breath fresh!
  • Clean between your teeth by flossing at least once a day.
  • Eat nutritious foods like raw vegetables, fruit, and nuts and limit sugary treats, especially sodas and coffee drinks.
  • Schedule a dental checkup at least every six months for a thorough teeth cleaning using professional tools.
  • Consider dental sealants for yourself and your children to reduce your chances of decay.

If it’s been six months or longer since your last dental checkup, then it’s time to
